The Selfie

The Selfie is a comment on how Aria's generation was when the 'selfie' made it's way into mainstream culture and defined many of her younger memories of herself, predominantly her 20's. The 'selfie' can be about creating memories as much as it is about highlighting a young womans desire to be seen as beautiful. Aria questions how valid the 'selfie' is in defining oneself and how damaging it can be as young women aim for perfection in their looks as a misguided way in finding value within themselves.
